The ticket machines at a busy Australian train station have been covered with Purezone antimicrobial laminate to reduce the spread of bacteria and viruses, including coronavirus.
Purezone’s silver ion technology prevents bacteria and viruses (including the coronavirus) from surviving on its surface. The product has been certified by the Pasteur Institute in France to ISO 21702, the standard measurement for antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces. The silver ion film was shown in the certification test to reduce coronavirus presence by 95% after a contact of 15 minutes, and nearly 99.9% after a contact of one hour (compared to an untreated membrane).
Fitting PureZone anti-microbial films to the touch screens in the ticket hall gives constant 24/7 protection to enhance the already exemplary cleaning process. Perth Public Transport Authority are demonstrating their commitment to do take every practical step to keep their commuters safe and give them confidence to travel again.
